Hydro has established a Project to enable the use of natural gas in the fuel mix at Alunorte. Engineering is underway and is expected to be completed next year, with construction and commissioning to be completed in 2023. To enable the use of natural gas at Alunorte, modifications to existing operations at Alunorte will be required, and this work is being studied by Hydro. The project is established as the Alunorte Fuel Switching Project.
